Overview

Tutovate is an education management SaaS platform designed to help tutoring businesses, schools, colleges, and higher education institutions manage their operations. The platform includes tutor, client, lesson, and payment management, along with a tutor marketplace where tutors can create listings and parents, students, or clients can discover and choose tutors. Tutoring businesses can also subscribe to the platform to manage their operations through a centralized system.

The Challenge

One of the biggest challenges was designing a flexible lesson and payment model that could support different education and tutoring businesses internationally. Some businesses charge per lesson or session, while others use monthly, course-based, or other payment models. Supporting these different models required careful planning across multiple data models and user workflows.

The Solution

Worked through the different business and payment scenarios and structured the product around flexible models instead of assuming a single lesson-based workflow. This required iterating on the UX and working with multiple models to create a system that could support different types of education businesses.
